Philo's Fall

While Black Philo can argue,
in white hall so stark,
his progeny cowers in memory
of his fumbling in dark.

This liar of yore,
like adopted kin of today,
an existence in snore -
flawed character our bane.

So accomodate and welcome
enemies visiting our heel.
Hugging jackals your nature,
causing truth's skin to reel.

True heirs to your blood
see through flawed lies.
They trumpet antithesis
thus vanquishing disguise.

Hmmm.... what is the poet trying to say here? Who is Black Philo, and who are his kin?

he is born of an evil breed...now the question...do he do what he do as a conservative as pennance, or from an enlightened vantage having the follies of his Fathers as the guide for what not to do?
